Hello, I have been working for the "geek squad" at best buy for the last year or so. I am thinking that I would like to start my own company. I have skills in computer repair, web design, flash, html, graphics design. How could I go about starting my own business?
Could you list all the things for me to do

Reply:Don't give up your day job for awhile. Keep your overhead (expenses) very low by working from home until your business is big enough.
Start with a small ad in the phone book, and perhaps small ads in the newspaper.
You can look in the newspaper for firms who file fictitious business names, many of which are new businesses who would need services you have to offer.
Reply:there are alot of things that you have to do,but maybe you should wait only 1-5 % of businesses or company's last and you sound like a good person.so maybe you should hold it off for awhile.

The Small Business Administration is your resource for the legalities and for the Business Plan outline to start your own business. The whole list of things you'll need to do is right there.
If you plan to succeed - you start with a PLAN. Develop a business plan. Your ideas and your requirements will flow together if you use the standard business plan form. It is a full time, no income, job to get a small business started.
In the meantime - with your talent you won't have to starve. Visit www.elance.com and see if there are freelance projects you could do to keep food on the table and a roof overhead. There are other freelance websites - but I'm not in your field.
Check out www.craigslist.com in every city for "computer gigs". You should be able to telecommute. Also search jobs using "contract" as your delimiter in the search function.
I wish I had your skills - I keep finding jobs for you to do from home when I'm trying to find work for me.
Good Luck.
