Is Web Design still a good business? How much income do you expect a month?

Do companies use web design service from outsourcing or hire a web designer as an employee these days?

Is Web Design still a good business? How much income do you expect a month?
I agree with the other forum member(s) that most web design services are offered by a Media Agency who, in turn, employs a staff web designer to handle client projects.

Usually, any web design generated income is calculated on a set completed project price with a monthly maintenance fee calculated on how much time will it take to update/revise the client's webpage which often requires the updating of specific databased webpages. All web design charges are calculated in tenths of an hour. For example: 15 minutes = 0.25; 30 minutes = 0.50; 45 minutes = 0.75 and 1 hour = 1.00.

Most in-house Media Agency employees, and especially web designers are not very well paid and earn an average yearly salary of $30,000 to $35,000.

The real top earners are not web designers but SEO specialists who earn a percentage of a client's gross annual income. This is a standard compensation formula since the high placement of a client's website on major search engines often requires active manpower to maintain the high rankings and ultimately, the client will benefit from high volume web traffic to their website. A typical SEO specialist whose portfolio is any number of Fortune 500 clients, may earn as much as $125,000 to $150,000 a year.

Good luck!
Reply:Most companies hire a Media Agency to get the job done! on the other hand, Media Agencies hire freelance web designers to get the job done! i have not seen any agency capable of doing the job without hiring extra staff for the job.
