Would a pen tablet help with web design?

I've been considering buying a wacom pen tablet but I'm not sure it would be of much help. What would it help with in regards to web design?

I could help you with creating original graphics to place on web pages, but otherwise you would only be using the stylus and tablet as a mouse.

It works pretty good as a mouse, by the way.
Reply:You are absolutely right about the mess of painting. AND, the tablet is much easier to draw and paint with than a mouse. Using the mouse to create graphics has been compared to "drawing with a brick." Report It

Reply:In my experience, you're better off with conventional art tools and a scanner, unless you're a really sure-handed sketcher.
Reply:I use a huge wacom tablet for drawing on the computer. I use just a regular mouse for things that don't recquire acute percision. Usually programs liek Adobe and Net Objects provde you with enough tools so that a tablet is not necessary.
Reply:It's a cool toy but not really needed
Reply:i have a Friend who swears by her tab but i don't use one. if you do get a tab watch out for friction. try it out first, most tabs are really slick and don't feel like a normal writing utensil
